About Matthew Barrett

A little about me: I am a designer based in Salt Lake City. I have worked at the Center for Excellence in Higher Education and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with over six years of experience between the two of them. I graduated with a Masters in UX Design from Kent State University in 2017 and a Bachelors in Graphic Design from The University of Utah in 2013.
My goal in studying UX design was to get more into the strategy of design and solve issues bigger and deeper than the visual aspect of a problem. While studying, I’ve taken classes in interaction design, usability, information architecture, content strategy, and user research. I’m open to different types of UX design, but information architecture and interaction design have enticed me the most so far.
I am proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite, I have used programs like Sketch and InVision for web design before, and have even dabbled in 3D animation. Plus, I speak fluent Spanish.
